يتوجه الناخبون في الجزائر السبت إلى مراكز الاقتراع للإدلاء بأصواتهم في أول انتخابات تشريعية في البلد منذ أدت احتجاجات شعبية إلى استقالة الرئيس السابق، عبد العزيز بوتفليقة، في عام 2019 بعد 20 عاما في سدة الحكم.
ويحق لأكثر من 24 مليون ناخب الإدلاء بأصواتهم في الانتخابات، التي تشهد مشاركة 1483 قائمة، تضم 646 قائمة حزبية و837 قائمة لمرشحين مستقلين، بحسب وكالة الأنباء الجزائرية الرسمية.
وسعى المرشحون لحشد مؤيدين، خلال حملاتهم الانتخابية، إلا أن الإقبال المنخفض على المشاركة في عمليات التصويت في الآونة الأخيرة سلط الضوء على حالة من التحفظ لدى عامة الناس، بحسب وكالة رويترز للأنباء.
“لن أصوت لأن شيئا لن يتغير. لا شيء على الإطلاق”، حسبما قالت ناخبة تُدعى خديجة للوكالة، متحدثة أمام جدار تكسوه ملصقات دعاية انتخابية.
وعلى الرغم من انتخاب عبد المجيد تبون رئيسا للبلاد في عام 2019 بدلاً من بوتفليقة، والموافقة على دستور معدل، يعتقد العديد من الجزائريين أن المؤسسة الأمنية والعسكرية لا تزال تحتفظ بالسلطة الحقيقية.
