يقول قادة أحزاب المعارضة الإسرائيلية إنهم اقتربوا من الاتفاق على تشكيل حكومة جديدة قبل منتصف ليل اليوم الأربعاء، قد تنهي فترة رئاسة وزراء بنيامين نتنياهو التي استمرت 12 عاما.
وكان زعيم المعارضة، يائير لابيد، قد مُنح مهلة قدرها ثمانية وعشرين يوما، تنتهي بنهاية اليوم الأربعاء، لتشكيل ائتلاف بعد إخفاق نتنياهو في ذلك.
وتشير تقارير وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية إلى أن لابيد يسعى للإعلان عن تشكيل حكومة جديدة في وقت قريب بعد الاتفاق مع قادة من مختلف الأطياف السياسية على كيفية تقسيم معظم المناصب الوزارية.
وبموجب الاتفاق المقترح، سيكون السياسي اليميني، نفتالي بينيت، رئيسا للوزراء لمدة عامين ثم يسلم السلطة إلى يائير لابيد، المنتمي لتيار الوسط.
وقال متحدث إن زعيم المعارضة الإسرائيلية اقترب من الإطاحة برئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو اليوم الأربعاء بعد الاتفاق على شروط مع عدة أحزاب، بما في ذلك حزب يقوده وزير الدفاع بيني غانتس، لتشكيل حكومة جديدة مقترحة.
