Majestic Steel is growing its business by buying a steel building manufacturer in the South and a transportation company on the West Coast.
The Pepper Pike-based steel distributor and processor purchased Quicken Steel LLC, a manufacturer of steel buildings based in Claxton, Georgia, and Mercury Transport, a trucking company headquartered in Pittsburg, California.
President and CEO Todd Leebow said the two investments further Majestic’s goals of supply chain reliability, especially on the West Coast, and of innovation in the steel industry.
Quicken Steel makes steel buildings, metal roofing products and other related components. Majestic said Quicken Steel’s business can leverage the larger company’s footprint and use it to scale.
“Quicken Steel is an opportunity for us to provide our existing solutions downstream where we believe steel is critical to the future of building,” Leebow said in a statement.
Majestic said Mercury Transport will help it provide better service to customers on the west coast. Majestic bought Merit Steel, a steel service center also headquartered in Pittsburg, California, in August 2021.
