A Cleveland man was arrested and charged with murder after he shot his roommate during a physical altercation on Monday, police said.
Harlee Sullivan, 67, was accused in the slaying of Marcus D. Wood, 47, of Cleveland. Police said Sullivan shot Wood about 5:40 a.m. at the Bohn Tower Apartments at East 13th Street and Superior Avenue, according to police.
Wood was found in a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, police said. Officers administered first aid to Wood until paramedics arrived. He was later pronounced dead.
The apartment building is the property of the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority. When CMHA officers arrived at the apartment building, along with Cleveland police, Sullivan was in the lobby. He told officers the gun he used to shoot Wood was inside of his 7th floor apartment, according to a police report.
Sullivan told police that he allowed Wood to stay at his apartment. That morning, the two men were involved in an argument that became physical. Sullivan told police that he felt threatened by Wood, and he shot him.
Police recovered the gun from Sullivan’s apartment. Sullivan was later arrested. A municipal court judge set his bond at $1 million, according to court records.
The shooting remains under investigation by police.
