The hot weather is taking a few days off in Northeast Ohio, with highs in the 70s to start the week.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service say temps will stay in the mid-70s Monday in both the Cleveland and Akron areas and skies will be clear. The humidity will dial back, too, providing some comfortable conditions. Skies will remain clear overnight and temps will dip to the mid-50s.
Tuesday will feature more sunshine and highs will be in the upper 70s. Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s in the Akron area and the low 60s in Cleveland, and no cloud cover is expected.
Warmer conditions return Wednesday as highs reach the mid-80s with sunny skies. Overnight temps will be in the low 60s in Akron and mid-60s in Cleveland with clear skies.
Highs will reach the low 90s on Thursday with more sunshine. Temps overnight will be in the low 70s with partly cloudy skies. Friday will bring similar conditions, although there is a solid chance for some much needed rain during the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are likely overnight Friday, with temps in the upper 60s.
The holiday weekend has a good chance of starting with some rain and thunderstorms on Saturday, and highs will be in the low 80s. Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s in Cleveland and the mid-80s in Akron.
