AKRON, Ohio — Police are investigating after a man was arrested following reports of several shots being fired from the window of a high-rise apartment building in the Chapel Hill neighborhood.
A suspect was arrested quickly after the incident was reported at the building on the 1100 block of Independence Avenue, according to police. The 25-year-old suspect, Christopher Washer, was found hiding in a laundry room on the fourth floor.
There were no reports of injuries and no weapon has been recovered, police say. Washer is being held in the Summit County Jail on a charge of obstructing official business and for probation violations.
The discharging of the weapon claim remains under investigation.
