Two people were killed late Saturday night when the motorcycle they were riding struck a deer on a highway in Wyandot County.
According to the State Highway Patrol, a 61-year-old man and 60-year-old woman were riding a 1989 Yamaha motorcycle on U.S. 23 south near Wyandot Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. when the crash occurred. Both were ejected from the motorcycle when it struck the deer.
The man, who was driving, and the woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither person was wearing a helmet.
The names of the man and woman are being withheld pending notification of family members. The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol is not considered a factor, according to the Highway Patrol.
