Northeast Ohio’s weekend weather forecast: Hot with a chance of thunderstorms

 Conditions are expected to remain hot throughout the weekend with an increased chance for showers and thunderstorms later on Sunday. The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for highs in the mid-to-upper 80s throughout the entire weekend.

Friday will probably have the best weather conditions with clear skies throughout the day. A slight chance for showers and thunderstorms returns on Saturday afternoon and continues the rest of the weekend. Sunday has a slight chance of showers in the morning with an increased risk in the afternoon and evening with rain chances continuing through the overnight hours.

Lake Erie marine forecast

A small craft advisory and beach hazard statement remain in effect through Thursday afternoon. Waves of 3-5 feet are possible and there is a high risk for rip currents along the lakeshore. For the weekend, things look mostly calm on the lake with highs in the low-to-mid 80s. Overnight lows will only drop into the mid 70s. Wave heights of one foot or less are expected throughout the weekend.

Work week forecast

Monday will be much cooler as showers taper off. Highs will top out in the upper 70s. Tuesday looks to be sunny and mild with highs around 79.
