Sake Japanese Fusion is scheduled to open in Summit Mall in Fairlawn. And when it does, it will employ a robot to guide diners to their seats.
FAIRLAWN, Ohio – Sake Japanese Fusion is set to open in Summit Mall.
Billed as offering a modern mix of seafood and sushi, the restaurant has a target opening date of this spring, according to a news release from Simon, the real-estate mall-ownership company. It will be located in the former Bravo Italian Kitchen restaurant, next to David’s Bridal, and will have an exterior entrance.
Sake Japanese Fusion owners also own the Boiling House seafood restaurant at 1 W. Exchange St., in downtown Akron.
The menu will have grilled teriyaki items, a sushi bar, noodles and rice offerings, burgers, seafood entrees and items from its “teppanyaki grill” – charcoal-grilled items with Cajun or teriyaki sauce. A kids’ menu also is available.
Sake Japanese Fusion customers will be greeted by “Peanut,” a robotic host that will show diners to their seats.
Resembling a sleek, modern-day version of R2-D2, it maneuvers via an “autonomous navigation” system and automatically avoids obstacles. Here’s a YouTube clip of the robot in action.
The restaurant is at 3265 W. Market St. – Ohio 18 – two miles east of Interstate 77.
