An Uber Eats driver who returned to her car after a delivery to find a woman sitting in the driver’s seat was dragged about 50 feet as the suspect drove off.
Police say the 23-year-old delivery driver left her vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, unattended and running while making a delivery at about 4:20 p.m. Saturday to an apartment on the 700 block of Rocky Brook Drive in Merriman Valley. When she came back to her car, a woman was sitting behind the wheel.
The victim grabbed the door handle and ended up being dragged as the suspect sped off. The victim, who suffered injuries to her arms, was later taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital for treatment. The car was recovered a few hours later.
No arrests have been made. The suspect reportedly is in her early to mid-20s, and she was wearing a head scarf and a black shirt.
