A 35-year-old woman was arrested after she reportedly used a handgun to threaten a worker at the drive-thru window of a downtown McDonald’s, all with her 7-year-old child at her side.
According to police, the 35-year-old woman and her child walked up to the drive-thru window Wednesday at the McDonald’s on the 200 block of East Exchange Street. Police say the woman became confrontational and got into an argument with the employee.
The woman pulled out a handgun during the argument, slid it into firing position and threatened the worker, police say. She then walked away with her child, but was found by officers about a block away and was arrested.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, aggravated menacing, and weapons under disability. The child was temporarily placed into Summit County Children’s Services custody.
