Rayshown Calloway, 25, of Cleveland was dead in the passenger side of a Toyota RAV 4 about 1:40 p.m. near MetroHealth Drive and Scranton Avenue, according to police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Calloway suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Calloway was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The hospital told its workers that there was no danger to those at the hospital.
An investigation by police revealed Calloway was involved in an argument with his child’s mother and her girlfriend. After the argument, Calloway and the woman who shot him entered separate vehicles.
Calloway reportedly threatened his child’s mother and her girlfriend with a gun before the shooting, according to police.
The woman went to officers in the Second District, and she was interviewed by homicide detectives. Investigators spoke with the Cuyahoga County prosecutors, who are reviewing the case, police said.
In a text message to employees, MetroHealth officials said there was no threat to workers or patients. The text praised MetroHealth’s police officers who responded and secured the scene.
