صدّق الرئيس الروسي، فلاديمير بوتين، يوم الاثنين على قانون يضفي طابعا رسميا على انسحاب موسكو من اتفاقية السماوات المفتوحة الأمنية، بعد انسحاب الولايات المتحدة منها العام الماضي.
وكانت موسكو قد أعلنت في منتصف يناير/كانون الثاني الماضي أنها ستنسحب من الاتفاقية، التي تسمح للأطراف الموقعة عليها بإجراء رحلات استطلاعية غير مسلحة فوق أراضي بعضها البعض.
وأشارت إلى “عدم إحراز تقدم” في الحفاظ على الاتفاقية بعد انسحاب واشنطن منها العام الماضي.
وقال الكرملين يوم الاثنين إن قرار انسحاب الولايات المتحدة من الاتفاقية “أخل بشكل كبير بتوازن المصالح” بين أطراف الاتفاقية وأجبر روسيا على الانسحاب.
وأضاف في بيان على موقعه الإلكتروني: “تسبب ذلك في إلحاق ضرر جسيم باحترام الاتفاقية وأهميتها في بناء الثقة والشفافية، كما تسبب في تهديد الأمن القومي لروسيا”.
