استهلّ الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن رحلته الأولى خارج الولايات المتحدة بتحذير وجهه إلى روسيا.
وقال بايدن إن موسكو ستواجه عواقب وخيمة في حال تورطها بـ”أنشطة ضارة”.
وأكد بايدن أنه سيوصل رسالة واضحة إلى الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، وذلك في حديث أمام حشد من الجنود الأمريكيين وعائلاتهم أمس الأربعاء في قاعدة ميلدنهول الجوية حيث هبطت طائرته قبيل التوجه إلى كورنوال جنوب غربي بريطانيا.
وقال بايدن: “لا نسعى لصدام مع روسيا. نريد علاقة مستقرة. رسالتي واضحة: الولايات المتحدة سترد بقوة وحزم إذا تورطت روسيا في أنشطة ضارة”.
وتشهد العلاقات بين واشنطن وموسكو تردياً على صعيد عدد من القضايا.
