Dolly Parton Shares Health Update: Good News Amid Challenges

Dolly Parton recently provided an update on her health through a heartfelt Instagram video, delivering both encouraging and concerning news to her fans. The country music legend, who is 80 years old, expressed that while she is experiencing some health issues, she is optimistic about her recovery.

In her video, Parton shared, “The good news is, I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day.” Although she did not specify the exact nature of her health concerns, she acknowledged past struggles with kidney health and noted that her immune and digestive systems have been compromised over recent years. Parton humorously mentioned her long-standing issue with kidney stones, comparing the frequency of her treatments to the output of a quarry.

Parton revealed that her medication side effects have led her to cancel her upcoming Las Vegas performances, which were initially postponed due to unspecified health challenges that required several procedures. She explained, “Some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit swimmy-headed, and of course, I can’t be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars and such on five-inch heels.”

Despite these setbacks, Parton reassured her fans that she is in capable hands with her medical team, who have confirmed that her conditions are treatable. “I’m doing really well,” she said, emphasizing her determination to return to her vibrant lifestyle and stage performances. While she admits it will take time to regain her full strength, she remains committed to her work during her recovery.

Parton is actively involved in various projects, including preparations for the opening of her museum and hotel in Nashville later this year. She is also dedicated to revising her upcoming Broadway musical, *Dolly: A True Original Musical*, which is set to debut in the fall or early winter of 2026. “The truth is, I am still working. I still do videos. I still record,” she stated, highlighting her resilience and dedication to her craft.

In the same video, Parton took a moment to express gratitude for the support she received from fans following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025. She thanked her followers for their love during a difficult time, sharing how their concern has played a significant role in her healing process.

Parton concluded her message with optimism, stating, “I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way!” Her fans continue to rally around her as they look forward to her return to the stage and her ongoing contributions to music and entertainment.
