A 911 call made at approximately 1:50 p.m. referenced an apparent overdose and cardiac arrest. Emergency services responded quickly, administering advanced life support measures including CPR. Unfortunately, Panettiere was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:32 p.m. The Greenville Police Department has stated that their preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. An autopsy conducted following her passing revealed no indications of trauma that may have contributed to her demise.
Panettiere’s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the news of her death, expressing profound sadness in a statement. He described her as “an incredible light and a force of nature,” noting the immense love and joy she brought to those around her and to her fans worldwide.

She acknowledged the detrimental effects of alcohol, stating, “Even though the alcohol helped my nervous system calm down, it is a depressant, so over time it made things worse, not better.”
